File this under “so bad it’s good.” In the age of organized bot-trolling, this book’s a goofy-fun concept that makes no sense - hire a detective to find and stop an individual online troll. Hm, okay. I literally lolled multiple times, so it’s definitely entertaining.

No spoilers required: a real short, quick read about Kyle King, a bored cop who throws in the badge to go into the hard world of cyber crime investigations, setting up the Social Media Detective Agency. Much of the street criminals have taken flight and are turning up in cyber space, Kyle is going after them. The agency's first case - for a high profile client - takes him and his partner, the beautiful damsel Ally on the trail of a troll who turns out to be nothing other than a near-hit then the [...]

Good storylineThis is a short book with a decent storyline that could have been developed more. The backstory about the main character's current situation was barely addressed. The secondary character, Ally, was intriguing but underutilized. I truly was turned off by the distracting interjection of the main character's musical preferences in the middle of a suspect chase, and the entire situation was hardly credible. With a good editor and some re-writing, this could be much better.

“A MUST READ TWITTER FEED”The story is a pleasant quick read. It is somewhat short on character development and details and setting descriptions and its central character Detective Kyle King is a sort of incomplete mystery. His angst is not explained quite enough to flesh him out and make him real. His leading lady Ally is more believable and likeable; a more simple but very valuable and likeable character. But although I do have some issues with the depth of the writing and characterization [...]

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This book was a quick and easy read. While the story wasn't super sophisticated, it has a great storyline and plot line. I would have liked more depth into the characters but hopefully the next books will show more.
