3 1/2 Stars. I liked this short by Quinn. My only issue is once the story really got good, it ended. I would have loved to have seen this as a full length book, or at least have it continue with another short. The story is about Hannah, who has been held prisoner in the Institute. At the age of 14, she was whisked from a doctors appointment, never to see her family or friends again. Now as an adult, she realizes there is something wrong with her. Thank you to Less Than Three Press and NetGalley for giving me free access to this book in exchange for an honest review.Recommendations:I would recommend this book to teenagers and young adults who enjoy fantasy horror or adventure, or those who simply enjoy a short, contained story which resolves itself. i really liked this one, there was a strong thread of mystery and intrigue and just plain creepiness throughout that i really enjoyed, but i couldn't help but feel that something was missing. perhaps the story would have worked better as a short novel (maybe of 200-250 pages?) rather than a novella, as this would allow for more character development and backstory that could really benefit the plot.

As a result, she ended up locked up in the Institute. Mya, her friend, wants to escape from there, but for that, she needs her help. And Hannah can't help but be afraid. Afraid of her own darkness, afraid of the screams of the Howlers that ring through the institute every night, afraid of staying in the institute and afraid of getting out. After all, if th [...]
