It was good, but The story time skipped in the middle and glossed over a critical point. It was odd, awkward, and frustrating.

What can I say? I hated it but have no one to blame but myself. I should have vetted it better. I needed something to listen to and it was available and in a genre I like so I gave it a try. They should have a 'teen angst' warning on these things.

2.5 Where do I begin? The basis for this book was intriguing. It was a solid idea but terribly executed. The main character Em is decently developed yet a bit confusing. She's been alone for the last 10 years and at 19 she's extremely immature (which might be expected) but she knows things that are explained away because she was either told when she was 9 (who remembers that?!) or she read them in romance novels or survival books yeah. No. But ok I can let that slide. I sill see two bigger blari [...]

I'm a sucker for YA post apocalyptic trilogies. This one wasn't bad. I wish I'd gotten a longer story about Emma (the heroine) during her solitary time. There were a lot of character inconsistencies in this one. Emma goes from someone who only looks out for number one and is lacking any desire to team up with other survivors or to establish human relationships to someone who is out to save the world and forged instant friendships. The rapid change in her personality made it all the more unbeliev [...]

In the book "Born", by A.E. Watson, the story of a girl named Emma was told, who had been living on her own for ten years (besides her pet wolf, Leo) since an apocalyptic event occurred where she lived. An infection had spread through nearly all the people and made them into zombie-like creatures, and she was afraid to have contact with anyone - until a brother and sister came along and changed her opinions about having relationships with people. The theme of this story is centered around the qu [...]

It has been 10 years since the bombs destroyed the world. Since the infection has spread among those who were left. Emma has been on her own all these years along with her companion, a wolf named Leo. Until one night there is a knock on her door. Anna and her brother Jake have been following Emma and now need her help. She takes them in and suddenly her world is turned up side down. She slowly starts to open up to Jake and Anna and they become the family she never knew she wanted. I loved all th [...]

This is a future when the United States no longer is a country and the UN has managed to mess up the entire planet. A man-made virus has turned people into vicious men who rape and kill without any concern at all for their victims. The military isn't a whole lot better, and a third group is worse than the first two put together. This is all after loads of bombs have been dropped to kill infected people but basically by destroying civilization as we know it.Emma has survived for years being on he [...]

3/5 StarsYet another book where I read, the first half is brilliant and then things steadily go downhill! I liked the premise of the story, intriguing and the first quarter of the book was exactly that. It captured my interest straight away, I was caught emotionally early with the main character and her situation. Then something major happens and then the whole story angle changes which is expected but it worked out ok and then we start to edge towards the middle of the book, and that's where th [...]

This book's overall concept is intriguing and I like all the characters. However I believe this story took a bad speeding turn and this 250 page book with all the characters and events could have easily been 600 pages. Everything was too fast including relationships especially between Will and Emma who's growing romance went too fast to actually be realistic. I wish more had been explained and Emma's change between someone of solitude to someone who wants to help everyone was better brought out. [...]

The born Trilogy is fantastic! I love the suspense I was a huge fan of Tara Brown books and now as AE Watson I can tell that she has a knack for dystopia. I really like her writing and this book was fairly entertaining. The prize is excellent. I think this book is up there with other dystopias based on action like hunger games. I’ll continue with this series.

If the world goes to hell, I want Em by my side! Her bow and arrow skills rivals Katness', her survival abilities are as good as Kyra's from Partials. This book has it all. Not sure how I missed this one in all my book searching, all three are out. I'm already working on book two.

Good book VERY slow beginning, very repetitive of verbiage. After the first few chapters, not as bad

Weirdly slut shaming and rapey. The rules of the world are constantly broken with no explanation.

3.5. Not bad. A bit repetitive. Interesting story, but nothing new. Worth a read I suppose.
