La premisa me atrajo pero, aunque no ha estado mal, tampoco tiene nada que lo haga especialmente interesante, una lectura sin más, y por cierto, no me creo estar diciendo esto, pero hay escenas de sexo para aburrir, literalmente.

3.5 starsI liked this. It was an enjoyable easy read but not crazy short or with so many sex scenes I had to skim read them after a bit. I guessed the bad guy - not sure if it was a fluke or just easy, since I'm not normally good at figuring out the baddies in crime types. I didn't guess his motivation though. Cliff. . . was a bit of a judgemental douche. He did make up for it, but it certainly struck me throughout the first 70% that I just wanted to slap him upside the head at times. Drew was d [...]

Drew Drummond might make a living reading tarot cards and divining futures, but he’s not exactly a big believer in the supernatural. But being psychic-for-sale is probably the most honest thing anyone in his family has ever done, and Drew intends on staying on the right side of the law. Especially when ‘the law’ is Cliff Garcia, who he has been mooning over since high school.Cliff moved back to Florida for a lot of reasons: a break-up, his best friend dying, his mother’s insane belief in [...]

Could've been better, as it needed a bit more of a punch to really get it going, but not bad. I enjoyed it.

3,5 stars.A nice and sweet story. Very pleasant main characters, especially Drew - or I'm still obsessed with redheads :) I liked the first half (the compicated set-up for the characters to get together) better than the second half. There was very little conflict, the plot was predictable - but nice. I wish the paranormal element were stronger but there were a couple moments that touched me in the right way. Also, a very good cast of secondary characters! Drew's brothers, Drew's friend, Cliff's [...]

I really enjoyed this book even though Cliff is an asshat most of the story line. Too much macho and temper for 1 person. Drew is a true sweetheart with fiery red hair. Add in 2 slightly crooked over protective brothers who despise Cliff and the fun starts is Floridas most haunted city.

2.5 starsAs much as I found Drew to be adorable, I really struggled with this one. I thought the story had too many things going on but never really fully explored. Drew's sudden 'seeing the future' ability was just nice addition but that was it. And how about Helen's asking about whether the ghosts at her place being more restless than ever? That sounded like an interesting plot-bait. And the murder seemed to happen out of nowhere.Didn't satisfy me at all. The additional 0.5* is for Drew.Person [...]

3 1/2 StarsI received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.Northcliff Garcia is returning home after being away for the last eight years. He left the small town of Sandy Bottom Bay for California where he felt he would be finally be free to be himself. Knowing from an early age, he felt compelled to keep his secret to himself and the only way to be who he truly was, was to leave. Little did he know, he found himself only leading half a life in California. Once again, he f [...]

Drew Drummond is the white sheep in a family of black sheep. Drew inherited his place of business from his grandmother, who was determined to help Drew stay on the right side of the law, unlike most of the rest of his family. Drew is a psychic tarot reader in a town known for its paranormal activity. Drew's business fits right in with the town's theme, but the difference is, Drew considers himself an entertainer not a fortune teller, and never cheats anyone out of anything, eking out a frugal li [...]

Drew Drummond makes his living as a psychic tarot reader. He is not sure he actually believes but his grandmother left him the business and it keeps him from following the same law breaking path as his brothers. When his high school crush, Cliff Garcia, moves back to town as a member of the police force, Drew figures he has no chance of romance with him. In spite of all that, the two do find romance but then Drew hits his head and begins to have real visions of the future. He knows he can’t te [...]

A Joyfully Jay review. 4 starsThis book had a lot of promise, and there were things I definitely liked about it. But the story fell apart a bit for me in the latter part, and I found some plot points a bit dissatisfying. Ultimately, I liked it, but I definitely had some issues.Where this book really shined was twofold. The writing was fantastic and the pacing was really good. The story moved along at the perfect pace, neither rushed nor overwritten, and I had no trouble following along. Burn cer [...]

This was a very nice read. It had it all that you just love, little bit of suspense, hot sex (but not overdone) and supporting characters that I want to see have their own story told. It even has the crazy and conniving ex that you love to hate. I found this book to be a very nice and relaxing read. The author did a wonder job making the story move along so smoothly. I enjoyed the paranormal aspect of this story because it's not overdone. My favorite supporting characters were Kyle and Cliff's m [...]

Just when you think Cliff's blinders to the possibilities of the existence of the paranormal were ruling his life, in walks Drew Drummond and suddenly everything is turned upside down. Watching Cliff's inner belief system on the paranormal is heartbreaking at times but it is just one of those things he has to work out for himself. Luckily he has found an old friend as his new partner on the force and a very interesting psychic as his new lover. A great all around read that has mystery, romance, [...]

I really liked itI had been skirting around the book for awhile trying to decide it i wanted to read it or not. Well I am so glad I took the chance and bought the book. Wonderfully entertaining and great characters all around, not just the main characters. Definitely worth buying and reading.

I liked this one, North is a very likable person with a stalkerish Ex and Drew was cute, with his longterm crush. I even liked Drews brothers since they cared so much for their Drew and Kyle. Hopefully there will be a book about Kyle as well.

DNFI could not get into this one. My mind strayed from the story and I thought it not a good sign. I liked the blurb and really wanted to read it but this book did not work for me.

This is one of the best and most believable MM romance I've ever read. The characters were sweet but humanly flawed, the paranormal element wasn't obtrusive or deus ex machina, and the prose perfectly combined an appropriate tempo with pauses to provide character advancement -along with a healthy dose of humor. But really, for me, it's the believe-ability that I loved the most. I could see myself in these characters, thinking and acting along identical tracks, and the author ensured every base i [...]

Review can be found at It's About The BookThe cover of this book captured my attention and the blurb sealed the deal. I just had to read this one! There was an insta love feel to this one. Though from Drew’s side it was lingering for years. Cliff just saw Drew in a parking lot and had to have him. I thought the pacing of this book was excellent. I wasn’t bored for one second. Annoyed at times but in it. I did feel immersed in this world while reading it. I found the majority of the character [...]

I really liked Drew, he was a wonderful character and I was rooting from him from the first minute I met him. I found Cliff harder to understand, at the beginning of the book I got the impression that he had left town and hadn’t spoken to his mother for years, simply because she was into woo-woo stuff, but then later on in the book I realised he kept in touch by phone, which made me like him a little bit more. The two MCs were great together, Drew was quirky and sweet whereas Cliff was broodin [...]

So this is the first KC Burn book that I’ve read but not heard. I’ve done several on audio, which I loved, and was excited to have this one come up on the roster, but being that I’ve never read before I’m not sure if this style of choppy writing is typical? Or in need of more edits? It certainly doesn’t come over that way when listening to audio books of the other stories. With all that being said, I did enjoy the story as a whole, and found Drew, one of the main MC’s sweet and funny [...]

I'm not a fan of insta-love and this one was at first sigh across a supermarket parking lot; but when Drew was introduced I liked him very much. I was hoping he'd have certain sense of humor and he did, he didn't take himself seriously and understood his role as a tarot reader (in a town famous for the haunted and paranormal) very well. Cliff, on the other hand was pretty boring and predictable and somehow the story became a little too much. I've read the author's work before (Rainbow Blues) and [...]

4.5 starsI've really enjoyed this book . I would have given it five stars but I found the main character cliff to be a little inconsistent . He was described in the book as someone who stood up to bullies in high school and always did the right thing however he seem to have a temper. Even though you understand why it still kind of put him in the category of a bit of a bully to me. With that being said the story captured me from the beginning it was well-developed and had a great ending . I would [...]

A little heat, a lot of affection, an asshole of an ex, well- meaning but shady brothers, an insightful mother, and a town full of locals whose economy is based on tourists' belief in ghosts. Cute, albeit frustrating at points (Cliff's tendency to go off half-cocked). Scott is a very likeable guy, Kyle was sweet, and Wyatt was growing on me. I wonder if there will be more adventures in Sandy Bottom Bay? There were definite dangling threads that I'd like to see tied up.

Cliff comes back home after 8 years in LA the first morning as a police officer he spies a gorgeous red headed man in a publix car park.Drew is a psychic who haf lusted after Cliff since school. Following an accident, when Drew is knocked unconscience and Cliff offers to stay with him.I enjoyed this book. There was a paranormal overtone to it and also a murder mystery. A nice couple of hours read.

Somehow this book has a very 'murder she wrote' kind of appeal to it that works for it on so many different levels. It's quaint, charming & even the sexual encounter's give off a slow gentle pulsing sultry kind of heat that pervades the atmosphere of this town. The pages have really no real darkness to them despite the whodunit murder mystery that runs through parts of the book.I believe the secondary characters are interesting enough to rate future books in hopefully a series.

    27. Debbie on said:

I enjoyed this story, but I felt that there were too many side stories (or arcs, I guess you would call them?) that never really amounted to much or didn't get resolved, not that they were detrimental to the story, but just left some questions in my mind. I liked the MCs and the side characters, all seemed to feel fairly fleshed out. And I always like to read a story that takes place in my state (Florida).

Cliff is an asshat. His macho bull shit is over done. He blows his cover by becoming a sissy la-la over a fight. Totally out of character.I guess I was expecting more of a mystery/paranormal activity and what i got was a watered down far fetched romance. I enjoyed the book, I was just hoping for more.

    29. Theodora IK on said:

I liked that Cliff pulled his head off his ass relatively quickly every time he made his one of his assholish assumptions, but the times he had to do the pulling is kind of embarrassing. Drew was cute, but he sure had a low self-esteem, seeing how many times he had to defend his family, friend, job, and talent to Cliff to get him to stay.
